Goal Setting 10/8/2017

*I started this post a while back, and I think it’s time to finish it. I’m also going to be putting the date in the title so it’s easier for me to write stuff, lol.*

I’m sitting here watching Scandal on Netflix, and for some reason, I started thinking about goals.

I always set goals for myself, but I never follow through.

Take this challenge with me if you want! 😊

GOALS<<
1. My first goal is to stay off social media. I tried this back in July, and it kind of worked! I only log on to upload a ton of pictures of my daughter, and that’s it! Maybe like a couple of things, but then I log right back off. This goes for Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram. As much as it pains me to put Snapchat and Instagram on this list, I must.

2. Eat better. My husband and I have been trying to eat healthier, but we all know how that goes, right? We try to eat as healthy as we possibly can, but we fall off the wagon. Some do, and some don’t, and we, my husband and I, are apart of the Some Do category. Take this challenge with us!

3. Routines. As a person with anxiety, I love routines, and I stick to them… most of the time. If a routine gets thrown off, then my whole day, and sometimes whole MONTH gets thrown off. I know the old saying of “if you write it down, and make to do lists, you’ll stick with your routine.” I’ve done that, and to be honest, it’s just hard. I’m not afraid to admit that I’m lazy because I know I am. Routines, especially cleaning ones, are a little hard for me to stick with because my 10 almost 11 month old cries and gets really mad when I leave the room. It frustrates me when people don’t believe me when I tell them this. My husbands schedule doesn’t help much, either.

4. Makeup. I’m a Southern girl, and we love our makeup! Some of us can’t go out of the house without it… and I’m becoming one of those Southern girls. I love my southern heritage. My whole family grew up in the South, so it’s in my blood. I trying to expand my makeup collection, and being an Ipsy subscriber is helping! This is not sponsored, by the way, lol. I just love this company, and like to share when I can. Anyway. My simple makeup routine is concealer, powder, brows, and mascara. Takes me 10-15 mins, maybe 5!

5. Fashion. I want to expand my fashion….ness. I still have clothes from high school that I like to wear inside of the house. I want to dress more my age than to dress like I’m 16 still. I like fashion. I think it’s a good way to express yourself; to find out who you are, I guess.

I think goals are a good thing to set for yourself. I’m not expert, but I do like to this a lot within each year just to see if I can stick to it.

I think starting these goals are in order 🙂

Skin Care!

As I’m sitting here watching the Season 3 finale episode of Downton Abbey on Amazon, I have an anti stress mask on my face; feeling it getting tighter every second on my skin. I thought to myself that I would update you all on my skin care routine, or as I like to call it, half of my Self Care routine, which I’ll make another post for that later. (I started writing this post about a week ago, haha!)

So, let’s get this ball rolling!

Morning/Day Routine

I always wash my face in the shower. I feel it’s more convenient, and makes my skin care go by quicker.

I use two washes, both St. Ives; the blackhead scrub and the apricot scrub.

The blackhead scrub smells amazing! It controls the redness in my face after I’ve showered. I’m still wondering why my face is always red after showering. This scrub is mild and doesn’t exfoliate deep.

The apricot scrub is a more heavier scrub. It exfoliates more than the blackhead scrub, and also smells amazing.

After I rinse my face, and hop out of the shower, I put on the Simple moisturizer. I’ve this stuff for forever, so I had to get a new one. I’ll update on the new moisturizer once I use it for a while.

Night Routine

My night routine is pretty simple. All I use is the Clean & Clear night time face wash with the same moisturizer.

Taking off the makeup

When I take off my makeup, I’ll use makeup remover wipes. Sometimes I’ll use the simple micellar water, but I got new one of that, too; I’ll update when I use that one for a while, as well.

What I Eat In A Day!… Sort of.

What is one thing we all do every single day? EAT. Food. Don’t you just love food? I sure do. I swear I still have the appetite of a teenager, and could eat everything in sight. Keyword: could. For today’s post, I’m going to be talking about What I Eat In A Day.

I see this all the time on YouTube, and it got me thinking… should I make a post about this?
Well, here you are! Reading this to find out what I eat in a day. It changes depending on what’s going on that day, so I’m just going to focus on what I eat when I’m home.
So, let’s get started!

Breakfast
It’s starting to be one of my favorite meals… only because it’s ONE of the first things I think about once waking up to the sounds of my daughter making noises. We actually eat breakfast if the time allows us. “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I know, BUT when you have an 8 month old and you need to grocery shop, or you’ve just woken up late, breakfast isn’t on the menu. BUT HERE LATELY, it has been.
The very first thing we do, or I do whoever is out of bed first, is make coffee! If I’m up and out of the bed before my husband, I’ll make my coffee and prep his. All I do is pour the water into the back of our Mr. Coffee Single Serve Coffee K-Cup thing, put the K-Pod in it’s slot, and set a little note out that says “Just Hit Brew.”
Now, for the food portion of this varies. Sometimes we’ll have biscuits and gravy, he’ll have cereal and I’ll have toast, I’ll have grits, or we’ll both have toast. Just depends on the day really. Daughter always has bananas and a bottle. I’m not an egg person anymore for breakfast, so we don’t eat eggs in the morning. The only way I’ll eat eggs is in cookies and cakes… or French Toast…. I’m weird. ON TO LUNCH!

Lunch
Lunch also varies with us. Some days we’ll eat Whataburger (my favorite), or we’ll have a PubSub, or sometimes we won’t even eat lunch. Just depends on what’s going on that mid-morning to early afternoon. Hubby leaves for work at 12:30 – 12:45, so we have to eat lunch pretty early, I would say.
If I have to eat lunch without him, it’s normally one of the two mentioned above, or I’ll have leftovers. Maybe some pizza rolls… or chips and dips like it has been lately. Daughter has sweet potatoes and a bottle. She sometimes doesn’t eat all of the potatoes (or taters as I like to call them), so I’ll put them in the fridge and she’ll have it for lunch the next day.

Dinner
Now, for dinner. It’s literally the same thing every night. I always have the Tyson Honey Battered Chicken Tenders with honey mustard to dip. Always. Hands down. It’s filling. Not the healthiest option; well, none these are the healthiest option, but it’s quick and easy. 450 for 10 mins. Boom! Dinner is served! Not sure what hubby has.. he tends to take stuff to work, and it’s normally two pb&j sandwiches; one for lunch, and one for dinner. Daughter always has a bottle. I tend to not put a lot in her tummy before bed (which is at 8:30), so all she’ll have is the bottle. 8oz for all the three meals.

Snacks
My snacks tend to vary. Sometimes I’ll have some coconut milk ice cream, and some days I’ll a couple cookies, some days chips and dip. Just depends on what we have.

Drinks
As mentioned in the breakfast area, I always have coffee. I cannot function without coffee. I’ve tried to drink green tea for breakfast, and even water, but it just doesn’t work out. I always get headaches and I’m grouchy. My husband can vouch for me on that one. But, throughout the day, I always have water.. unless we go to Whataburger, then I have their sweet tea. If I’m in the mood, I’ll have some green tea, but it’s not always. Like today, right now, 8/9/2017 at 2:15pm, I’m having a craving for some green tea now that I’m talking and thinking about it, haha!

Well, that’s it for this post! I hope y’all enjoyed reading this. Hubby and I have been talking about going healthy and working out, so hopefully within the next few weeks/months, you’ll been seeing an updated version of this post, but with more healthier foods mentioned.

Thanks for stopping by! <3
