Updated Shower Routine with Hair Care!!!

Showers are a wonderful thing. They get you clean. They can help wake you up or make you sleepy.

If you’ve been reading my posts for a while now, or just know me in general, you’ll know that I absolutely love routine posts (videos on YouTube). I love it, and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because of the products they use, and it’s gives me a little inspiration to try something new out.

SO. Today’s post is all my shower routine. Let’s go ahead and jump in! Get it? Jump in? Like, jumping in the shower? No? Okay.

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by the products named in this post. I just simply enjoy using the products, and think they do a good job at getting my hair and body clean. Pic used from pixabay.

The first that I do after hopping in and singing about half of a song is wet my hair… well, the rest of it. The shampoo that I’m using at the moment is the Garnier Fructis Damagae Eraser. I feel it gets the job done, as I’m using more heat on my hair here lately.

After I rinse the shampoo out of my hair, I immediately condition my hair with the same product as above, only in conditioner form. I let that sit while I shave my legs, or just wash my body.

If I have time to shave my legs and under arms, I use the Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel. I like the Aveeno products. In the past, I’ve used the Aveeno Relaxing Body Wash, and loved it. I have the Aveeno Theraputic Shave Gel on standby for when I run out of the Positively Smooth.
The razor I use is the Men’s Schick Quatro Hydro 5 Sensitive Skin along with the refills.

I’ll rinse the shave gel off my legs and under arms, go right in to washing my body. I’m still using the B&BW A Thousand Wishes Shower Gel body wash…. stuff. I also still have the lotion, body cream, and body spray, but the body cream got lost in our move.

After rinsing my body off, I’ll get the conditioner out of my hair, and rewet my face for preperation for face wash. The one I’m using is the St. Ives Even & Bright. It’s not too harsh on the skin like the Apricot one is, but I might go back to that one. Ever since I had my daughter, my face has been so dry, and I can’t get moisture back in it to save anything. So, if you have any recommendations, please sound off in the comments below!

Once I rinse my face off, and my rinse my hair out one last time to make sure I got everything out, I turn the water off, gently ring my hair out of any extra water, attempt to get the excess water off my body so I’m getting our bathmat soaked, grab my towel and start drying off.

Once I’m dried off and dressed, I’ll wrap my hair in my towel, and get to moisturizing my body! I don’t do this every single time I take a shower, but it’s something I’m starting back up. After putting lotion on my legs, and arms, I’ll grab a couple q-tips and clean my ears, as one does. If I’m not in the biggest hurry, I’ll put the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Moiturizer on my face, and I mean a lot of it. Like I stated two paragraphs above, my skin is so dry since having my daughter.

I’ll put on my Dove deodorant, take my hair out of the towel, and thus beings my hair care routine. Not much goes into it. All I really do now is get the extra water out of my hair and roots to the best I can spray it with Johnson & Johnson Detangler Spray (smells like my childhood), let it sit for a minute while I plug up my hair dryer, then brush my hair very gently because I’m tender headed. (Thanks, Mama!!! JK)
The hair dryer I’m using is amazing! It has three heat settings, and two fan settings. It’s the┬áRemington AC9096 Silk Ceramic Ionic AC Professional Hair Dryer, Red. I love it. I dry my hair to where I want it, and go about my day!

That’s my shower/hair care routine! čÖé

Updated Night Routine… WITH A BABY!

Hi, readers. Let me just start this post by, again, saying I’m sorry for not posting for over a month! Things just got a little crazy here at home, and, let’s just be honest, I wanted to write this post, but ended up getting lazy. Also, HAPPY MARCH!┬áMy daughter now has weekly weigh-ins with her pediatrician, so that takes up a little up of our days. She’s now not wanting to take her long naps for me to do write. I think┬áit’s because of the time change that’s got her routine messed up a little bit.

Well, y’all came here to read my updated night routine with a baby, so keep reading!

I actually have this written down beside me, but I haven’t stuck to it since I tried starting it.

So, really, around 8:00 or 8:30, my daughter will be sleeping. Basically taking a long nap. She’ll have a bottle prior to this at around 6:30 or 7:00. Just depends.

My husband will then come in the door around 9:15, and he’ll do what he does when he comes home. Changes out of his clothes he wore to work. I’ll go lay in bed around 10:00, if he takes a shower.

I’ll watch an episode, or half an episode, of either Friday Night Lights or Gilmore Girls. I’m on a Gilmore Girls kick right now. I watched maybe half of the first season on Netflix yesterday. I think I started on episode 5 or 6, and I’m now on episode 13.

After almost falling asleep during an episode of either show, I’ll turn on a movie and go sleep.

My husband will stay up with our daughter and feed her every 3 hours until about 3 or 4 in the morning. He doesn’t go to bed right when he gets home. He stays up for our daughters feedings, and then he’ll come to bed. I’ll wake up at around 8 in the morning, and do the whole day over again.

Anyways. This post is really short. My bedtime routine is very simple. Go brush the teeth, lay in bed and watch an episode of a show and fall asleep, turn on a movie, and officially go to bed.

Thanks for reading! Hope y’all have a blessed day!

My Night/Bedtime Routine!

Thank you for coming back! Today’s post is going be my night routine. I love getting ready for bed. It helps me to relax, and helps me get sleepy. So, let’s started!

bedtime routine

My night normally starts out around 6:00 PM. Typically, that’s when dinner is ready. So, after I eat dinner, I’ll tyically watch either Hulu or YouTube video. Most of the time, it’s YouTube. I’ll watch beauty/lifestyle videos, or my favorite vloggers. I will typically stay in my day clothes. I won’t change until it’s time to lay down in bed. I normally forget what the time is because YouTube has consumed my eyes, but when my alarm goes off at 9:40 PM, that’s when I know that it’s time to get ready for bed. Oh, that sentence was all over the place! Ha ha!

The first thing that I do is go into the bathroom. “Duh, Jessica! That’s normally where all night routines start!” I know, but the first that I do when I close the bathroom door is potty. My bladder is normally screaming at me to release some pressure, so I listen to it. I wash my hands after going to the bathroom, then I’ll start my skincare routine.

The first thing I use the Simple Micellar Water. I mentioned this in my morning routine, but I like using this twice a day. It makes my face feel more clean than your typical face wash. If I feel like washing my face, I’ll use the┬áClean & Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash. I like this because it helps relax me, and it helps in getting me sleepy.

After I do that cleanse my face, I’ll go in with my eye cream.┬áI use the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream. After that, I use the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer.

After my skincare, I brush my teeth. I brush my teeth the Oral-B Pulsar electronic toothbrush, and the use Crest Pro-Health Advanced Energizing Mint Toothpaste.

I’ll go back into my room, and get dressed for bed. I’ll put on either my Messy Hair Don’t Care night gown, or a t-shirt and shorts. Most of the time, it’s the shirt and shorts. It’s more comfortable to me, and I’m all about comfort.

Usually around this time, it’s close to 9:45. I’ll crawl back into bed, and go to Netflix. I love Netflix. As I’m writing this post, I’m watching one of my all time favorite movies on Netflix. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It’s been my favorite for 13 years! I can’t tell you which part is my favorite because I don’t have one. I love it all. ┬áNow, characters is a different story. I think we all know who I’m going to say. Any guesses? If you said Will Turner, you are mistaken! I’ve always loved Jack. Excuse me,┬áCaptain┬áJack Sparrow. The ride at Walt Disney World is a must do on my list.
The movies I turn on are classic movies. They’ve entered my heart in a way I never thought they would. I started watching┬áThere’s No Business Like Show Business. For some reason last night, I wanted to watch a Marilyn Monroe movie, and that was one of the ones that came up in the search. I watch classic movies before bed because they seem to really calm me down from the day, and just relax me.

I forgot to mention earlier that when it gets dark outside, I turn my bedside lamp on. Right before I lay down from getting tired, because at this point I’m sitting up, I’ll turn the lamp off, and lay down. During this time, I’ll either pay attention to what’s going on in the movie, or I’ll go on my social media platforms of choice, and check everything I missed during the day.

Whenever I just can’t open my eyes anymore, I’ll turn off the classic movie that I’m watching/listening to, and I’ll put on a Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM for us 90’s kids). I’ll put on Geek Charming or Starstruck, and attempt to fall asleep.

I’ll also wait for my husband to call me to let me know he’s on his way home. I love when he does that because it just reassures me that he’s going to okay coming home. Ya’know. Worriesome wife, ha ha!

After he comes home, he’ll hop on the PlayStation4, and play a game while I hop onto his tablet, and resume whatever movie I was falling asleep to.

That’s all for my night/bedtime routine. I hope you enjoyed reading, and I’ll see you in another post! čÖé
