Well, I promised y’all an updated morning and night routine. I’m actually going to do what I did with the How I’m Getting My Life & House Organized post, and split it into two. So for this post, it’s going to be my Morning Routine! I feel like a beauty blogger on YouTube when I type that because I’m also saying it in my head like how they would, ha ha! So… let’s get started! 🙂
The first thing that I obviously do in the mornings is wake up. Now, I typically wake up between 8:00 and 9:00 on my own, or when Jaydynn wakes up, and starts making noises.
SAY GOOD MORNING
This time is very important to me because it gives me a chance to spend a little bit of my morning with my daughter and husband. I’ll say good morning to her, and she just gives me the biggest smile she possibly can. I then pick her up, and sit her on my hip area, and she’ll wake her daddy up. I’ll spend about 15 minutes with them in bed, and then I hand her off to her dad, so he can get some time in with her.
I do this every morning, and it’s habit I’m wanting to break. After I hand her off, I’ll turn over, grab my phone, and check everything. Snapchat is normally the first I’ll check if I haven’t been tagged in anything on Facebook or if someone hasn’t commented on a photo of mine on Facebook, but on this morning 2/10/17, I checked Snapchat first. Then, I’ll go on Twitter and catch up on what I missed on there while I was taking care of Jaydynn, and of course, sleeping. After Twitter, it’s normally a free for all from that point. Instagram, Gmail, and Facebook.
Now, I know I’m not the only one who has to use the bathroom after waking up because I know I do. I won’t go into detail here as it’s pretty self-explanatory. After I use the bathroom and wash my hands, I’ll brush my hair out, and put it in a pony tail while I brush my teeth. I use the Oral B Pulsar Soft Toothbrush with the Crest 3D White Brilliance toothpaste. After I rinse out my mouth, I’ll take my hair out, or leave it in, just depends. Let’s head off to the kitchen!
I got this tip from the same girl I mentioned about two blogs posts ago. Drink at least 1 cup of chilled water after you get up. “But, Jessica. You’ve been up for about 30-45 minutes at this point.” Yes, I know. I need to get into the habit of setting my water by my bed at night so that when I wake up, all I have to do it just grab and drink. Anyway. One of the first things that I do is make my husband and I a glass of water. I add about 2-3 pieces of ice in my water because I’m like how my mom was and I have to have my ice. I don’t care if it’s 30 degrees outside, I will have a drink with ice in it. I’ll get an iced coffee or Frappuccino from Starbucks, and drink it has if it’s a hot coffee. I have to have my ice, ha ha. I’ll also make us some thing for breakfast at this time.
This mornings breakfast consisted of Eggo Strawberry Waffles for me, Brown Sugar Thick ‘N’ Fluffy Waffles for my husband, and grits for me to put on my waffles. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. It’s good! I’ll have my water with breakfast, and if I’m awake enough, I won’t have coffee, but I had it this morning. I felt like a caffeine headache was coming on, so I made myself some coffee. Todays choice was Panera Hazel Crème. We have a Mr. Coffee single serve coffee maker. It’s like a Keurig, but instead of having the water there already and you just choosing the size cup or how much you want, you add in the water with the Mr. Coffee. A little bit more work, but it gets the job done. For creamer, I use the So Delicious Coconut French Vanilla coffee creamer as recommended by the same girl I mentioned two posts ago. It’s so good!
“Jessica. You’re in college?!” No. See, when I was in high school, we had to take this test called the FCAT. I kept failing the reading portion of it, and so, I got a certificate of completion. I’ve been working my tail off since November 2011 to get my High School Diploma. There’s a school next to our Intermediate School (Grades 4-5), that does Adult Education. It’s basically like regular school, but for adults, and they offer night classes, and online (or distant) learning, which is what I’m currently doing. Sitting a classroom just doesn’t cut it for me anymore. You have so many distractions, and you can either sit there or leave, but if you leave, you’ll be missing stuff. Since I was about to give birth when I signed back up for school, I decided on Distant Learning, and it’s working out. I can stop whenever I want and come back to it later. I write down just about everything because it helps me a lot more than just looking at the screen, reading what comes across it. I’m getting to the point where I’m not only writing down what’s important for me to learn. So, anyway. I’ll do as much homework as I can while eating breakfast, and listening to a podcast. I’m not much of a podcast listener, but since one of my favorite vloggers on YouTube is doing one, I figured I give it a go, as I assume all of the viewers are doing, ha ha!
BLOG BLOG BLOG
After I’ve done my homework, and eaten my breakfast, I’ll take this time to hop on here, and start working on a blog post. I call this my “working time”, even though my “job” doesn’t start until my husband walks out of the door for work.
Normally after I’ve finished with a blog post, my husband and I will spend time with each other and watch Charmed on Netflix. We’ll normally eat lunch at this time if we’re still hungry. He’ll leave for work around 12:30pm, and that’s when my day will really get started.
