Hello, February!

I cannot believe it’s February already! Where did January go? It’s only the second month of 2017, and it already feels like this year has flown by. Before I know, my daughter is going to be 1!

Let’s list off some things that are going to be happening this month, shall we.

  • My husband and I will together as couple for 7 years.
  • Valentine’s Day.
  • My daughter has her weight check up.
  • My daughter also turns three months old.
  • My birthday.
  • My nieces 1st birthday.

Let’s go into a little bit more detail. Why? Because I want to.

My husband and I started dating during last part of his Senior Year and my Junior Year of high school. We were the best of friends beforehand. I guess you could say we were so close, he was like my brother. Everyone in band dated someone who was like their brother or sister. We were just that close. I honestly thought that I would never date him, or think about liking him like that, but I did.

Now, some people dislike this day, and I kind of do, as well. I mean, why is there a day dedicated to showing the person you love affection when you should show it every day? I’m lucky enough to have a husband who shows me affection whether it’s hugging me, giving me a kiss, doing something I love. He doesn’t have to buy my affection. The only expensive thing that he’s given me was my engagement ring; I won’t say how much it was. If your significant other buys your affection, but all means, enjoy it. It’s just not how my husband and I roll. Other might, but we don’t. Not saying that’s bad or anything, so please don’t take this the wrong way! It’s not my intention.

I still can’t believe that I made a human, who is getting fussy right about now to either be held or wants her pacifier, ha. She’s getting so big! I can’t believe it. She was 6 lbs. 14 oz. when she was born, and now she’s 7 lbs. 5 oz.! That’s a big improvement for her according to her doctor, my husband and I. She’s gaining weight slowly, but my husband and I keep saying it’s because of her cleft lip and palate. She has to work a little harder at eating her bottles than babies born without the clefts.

My dad was right. I’m getting less excited about my birthday each year. I’ll wake up all happy, and early on my birthday, then as the day goes on, I start thinking, “Why is it special? It’s just a regular day to everyone else.” I’m turning 24 this year, and I can’t think of anything to do. I’ve done the same thing since I was 16. Bowling and eating afterwards, if not before. I’m not sure on what to do this year. Invite people to eat? But where? The main place that I always go to for my birthday is Longhorn Steakhouse, and that’s only because my mom would take me there. I think I still want to go there to keep that part of her alive. We’ll see.

I just saw this niece today. She’s my youngest niece. I used to watch her all the time before we moved. Her birthday is just two days after mine. I will always say that she was the best birthday present I’ve ever gotten… even if it was two days later. I love all my nieces and nephews, don’t get me wrong. They’re blessings like no other!

Wow. This is a short post! I want to take the time out and say if you’re reading, thank you for taking time out of your day to read my posts. I’m going to be quite honest; I’m not one for reading or writing, but I enjoy writing for this blog. I guess I got bored one day and thought that blogging would cure than boredom, and it did! I’ve had multiple blogs since then, but this one I’ve stuck with. So, again. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this, and exploring my blog!
