Earliest Memory

What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory that I have is probably going to look at my childhood home. I remember seeing white walls everywhere. All of the walls in the house were white except for my parents bedroom. I do believe that was a light pink with roses on the top the walls all the way around their room, and those walls stayed that way until we moved out. I remember meeting our neighbor who lived down the road from us. Him and my dad are in a band together, and have been for years now. I don’t remember much else. There’s pictures of me unpacking all the boxes my parents were packing because I apparently didn’t want to leave the trailor we were living in, which I don’t really remember that place at all except for when my grandfather took my brothers and I out the goat pin, and one of those goats stole my shoe, and my brothers had to fight the goat for it back, ha ha.

We moved into my childhood home when I was about 3 years old. The next memory I have is of that home is Intermediate School. I remember going to Elementry School, but not the house, for some reason. Weird, ha ha.

Happy Blogging!

October Blogging Challenge #1

So, this post was supposed to go up yesterday, October 1. Alas, it’s going up today, October 2.

The prompt title is “Describe yourself to someone who has never met you.”

If someone I’ve never met asked me to describe myself, I would start by saying that I’m a nice person. I’m generally happy. I try to be positive in the best way that I can. I’m shy with you until you get to know me. I love Bravo shows, some Disney Channel shows, a couple of Nickelodeon shows, and I love Food Network.

Me being a nice person is really what it means. I was raised to be nice. If you smile at me, I’ll be nice and smile back. If you ask me, “How’s it going?” while we’re both grocery shopping, I’ll tell you that I’m doing good, even if I’m having a bad day. I’ll hold the door open for you if I notice that you’re right behind me or my husband. If we’re both walking to a door, I’ll let you go first unless you say otherwise. Just being a nice southern woman; that’s how I was raised.

I’m generally happy unless you make me mad by doing stupid things, and by doing stupid things I mean by you doing something you know you’re not supposed to be doing.

Being is positive is as easy as it sounds. If you surround yourself with positive people, you’ll become a positive person. If you surround yourself with negative people, you’ll become a negative person. I don’t really hang out with a lot of people, so I generally stay positive.

Those last two sentences in the third paragraph, I don’t really think I need to explain those, ha ha.

Happy Blogging, and I hope this let you know a little bit more about who I am 🙂

Trying something new with an update!

So, as you all know from my last post back in July, my husband and I are expecting our first child, and we’re moving… well, we’re moved into our new home! We’ve been here for a week, and it’s kind of boring, ha ha. I’m not used to being a “housewife” anymore, so I’ve got to get myself back to into the swing of this whole wife thing. Our baby girl is doing fantastic! She weighs 3.8 lbs, and she’s healthy! The only thing we have to worry about with her is the fact that she has a cleft lip. The doctors have told us that since no one either side of our families (mine nor my husbands side) has had the cleft lip, it’s just an anomaly that happened, and if we have another baby in the future, there’s a four percent chance of that baby having the cleft lip.

Now, for the title of this post, which is why you clicked on it, right? Well, it’s time to try something new on this blog of mine. I think it’s time for a blogging challenge. Meaning, that every day of this month, I will be writing a new post from prompts I found online, since I hit writers block like crazy! I’ve already missed yesterday’s prompt, but is that going to stop me from making three posts this evening? Probably not.

I think I’m going to enjoy this challenge because, 1) it’ll give me something else to do while my husband is at work, 2) it’ll cure some boredom, and 3) it’ll help me get back into the swing of things. Keeping our new house clean is a breeze for us at the moment because with me being pregnant and my husband working nights, we’re both exhausted, plus we’re still exhausted from the move last weekend. Almost everything is falling back into place, but we have one more addition to bring into the home, but that addition won’t come until November, which is next month! More on that later.
