My Night/Bedtime Routine!

Thank you for coming back! Today’s post is going be my night routine. I love getting ready for bed. It helps me to relax, and helps me get sleepy. So, let’s started!

My night normally starts out around 6:00 PM. Typically, that’s when dinner is ready. So, after I eat dinner, I’ll tyically watch either Hulu or YouTube video. Most of the time, it’s YouTube. I’ll watch beauty/lifestyle videos, or my favorite vloggers. I will typically stay in my day clothes. I won’t change until it’s time to lay down in bed. I normally forget what the time is because YouTube has consumed my eyes, but when my alarm goes off at 9:40 PM, that’s when I know that it’s time to get ready for bed. Oh, that sentence was all over the place! Ha ha!

The first thing that I do is go into the bathroom. “Duh, Jessica! That’s normally where all night routines start!” I know, but the first that I do when I close the bathroom door is potty. My bladder is normally screaming at me to release some pressure, so I listen to it. I wash my hands after going to the bathroom, then I’ll start my skincare routine.

The first thing I use the Simple Micellar Water. I mentioned this in my morning routine, but I like using this twice a day. It makes my face feel more clean than your typical face wash. If I feel like washing my face, I’ll use the Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleansing Face Wash. I like this because it helps relax me, and it helps in getting me sleepy.

After I do that cleanse my face, I’ll go in with my eye cream. I use the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Eye Cream. After that, I use the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer.

After my skincare, I brush my teeth. I brush my teeth the Oral-B Pulsar electronic toothbrush, and the use Crest Pro-Health Advanced Energizing Mint Toothpaste.

I’ll go back into my room, and get dressed for bed. I’ll put on either my Messy Hair Don’t Care night gown, or a t-shirt and shorts. Most of the time, it’s the shirt and shorts. It’s more comfortable to me, and I’m all about comfort.

Usually around this time, it’s close to 9:45. I’ll crawl back into bed, and go to Netflix. I love Netflix. As I’m writing this post, I’m watching one of my all time favorite movies on Netflix. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It’s been my favorite for 13 years! I can’t tell you which part is my favorite because I don’t have one. I love it all.  Now, characters is a different story. I think we all know who I’m going to say. Any guesses? If you said Will Turner, you are mistaken! I’ve always loved Jack. Excuse me, Captain Jack Sparrow. The ride at Walt Disney World is a must do on my list.
The movies I turn on are classic movies. They’ve entered my heart in a way I never thought they would. I started watching There’s No Business Like Show Business. For some reason last night, I wanted to watch a Marilyn Monroe movie, and that was one of the ones that came up in the search. I watch classic movies before bed because they seem to really calm me down from the day, and just relax me.

I forgot to mention earlier that when it gets dark outside, I turn my bedside lamp on. Right before I lay down from getting tired, because at this point I’m sitting up, I’ll turn the lamp off, and lay down. During this time, I’ll either pay attention to what’s going on in the movie, or I’ll go on my social media platforms of choice, and check everything I missed during the day.

Whenever I just can’t open my eyes anymore, I’ll turn off the classic movie that I’m watching/listening to, and I’ll put on a Disney Channel Original Movie (or DCOM for us 90’s kids). I’ll put on Geek Charming or Starstruck, and attempt to fall asleep.

I’ll also wait for my husband to call me to let me know he’s on his way home. I love when he does that because it just reassures me that he’s going to okay coming home. Ya’know. Worriesome wife, ha ha!

After he comes home, he’ll hop on the PlayStation4, and play a game while I hop onto his tablet, and resume whatever movie I was falling asleep to.
